Greatest Needs of GSA

The Greatest Needs Fund provides general support to GSA and the GSA Foundation. Your gifts to this fund enable GSA to respond to urgent needs and emerging priorities that are vital to the future of geoscience and geoscientists. Unrestricted donations ensure that GSA continues to champion scientific excellence and integrity, support a thriving community, and serve as a leading voice for Earth science and Earth scientists.

Donations to the Greatest Needs Fund are divided between GSA and the GSA Foundation, with 80% going directly to GSA and 20% to the GSA Foundation. At the GSA Foundation, we use unrestricted support to effectively manage the more than 120 funds through which we provide funding to GSA, ensure compliance with all applicable regulations, and honor donors’ intentions and priorities alongside GSA’s.
