Since its inception, GSA has supported aspiring scientists in gaining hands-on expertise through field camps. The GSA Foundation proudly supports GSA in this commitment through the J. David Lowell Field Camp Scholarship Fund. This fund was established through the generosity of Dr. David Lowell, a renowned field-based mineral exploration geologist.

For many students, the financial cost of field camp poses barriers to entry. GSA and the GSA Foundation strive for all students to have access to high-caliber field learning experiences.
