This year we’ve been talking a lot about GSA’s grassroots initiative, On To the Future (OTF). In the six years OTF has been around, it has helped more than 500 students from groups underrepresented in the geosciences attend their first GSA Annual Meeting. Many of the earliest OTF alumni are bringing new talent, diversity, and energy to the geosciences. Some of them are even returning as mentors to the next generation of OTF students.

Motivated by the stories of OTF students and alumni, a generous donor has made a transformational gift—and invites you to do the same. This long-time GSAF donor is putting up $20,000 to match gifts that support OTF. Any OTF contribution this fall will be matched 1:1 to a $20,000 total. These gifts will help students attend the 2019 GSA Annual Meeting to experience individual mentorship, unparalleled networking opportunities, and the excitement of the geosciences.
