The purpose of the Fund is to support graduate student research in pre-Quaternary climatology.

The purpose of the Fund, established by the estate of Stephen Kish, is to honor the memory of his parents Leona and Alex Kish through research grants provided to graduate students and post-doctoral fellows doing research on topics in hydrogeology

This fund makes grants to undergraduate, graduate, and aspiring graduate students conducting research primarily at or in collaboration with volcano observatories established by the United States Geological Survey.

This fund finances graduate student research and/or activities in the field of periglacial and alpine geomorphology within the Quaternary Geology and Geomorphology Division.
